Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Facilities Technician I to join our Valdosta facility. The role focuses on routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex industrial systems to ensure reliable operations.

The technician will assist with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks, adhere to safety protocols, and document work in CMMS. A strong technical background and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in an industrial facility, mechanical, or maintenance setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
  • Experience driving forklifts and MEWP preferred.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Support scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, and repairs on fire safety systems (Emergency Exits/Lighting, Safety Showers, Flammable gas detectors, etc.)
  • Help troubleshoot issues with facility equipment and systems, including electrical, mechanical, lighting, and plumbing under supervision of maintenance technician or supervisor
  • Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair tasks.
  • Ensure proper documentation of work performed using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain tools, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance and production team members.
  • Assist maintenance technicians and contractors with installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as HVAC systems, motors, and lighting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during all maintenance activities.
