Job summary

Steele Solutions is seeking an Estimator in Tiffin, Ohio to develop cost estimates and quotations for steel platforms and custom solutions. You will review specs, read drawings, and collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Project Management.

The ideal candidate enjoys problem‑solving, reading CAD drawings, and delivering accurate bids. Limited travel to customer sites may be required; the office schedule is 4 9’s with some Friday work.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to read CAD software 2D and 3D models.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, blueprints, drawings, and project requirements.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel platforms, gravity chutes, lockers, and other custom solutions.
• Determine material, labor, and manufacturing requirements for proposed projects.
• Generate bills of materials and identify cost drivers that impact project pricing.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create customized solutions using standard SSI products and components.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
• Assist with product improvements and enhancements based on customer feedback and market needs.
• Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.
