Job summary

GSM Industrial in Lancaster, PA is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Estimator & Project Manager to lead estimating, procurement, and on-site execution for industrial installation projects. You will manage client relationships, coordinate field and shop activities, and oversee safety, quality, and project documentation to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in this or a related field or equivalent training/experience.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, rigging, piping, safe access, structural steel, machine install and ducting.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and material specifications.
• Project management and computer skills.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Confidence, sense of urgency, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Develops long lasting relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Calculates estimated costs of material, labor, equipment and services.
• Leads kickoff meetings to define scope, timeline, materials, and scheduling.
• Owns scope of work and communicates updates to project team.
• Orders project-related field materials and non-fabricated parts.
• Coordinates field/shop/shipping activities with office duties for project execution.
• Leads with project superintendent to ensure alignment with design, budget and schedule.
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises onsite functions including scheduling and material control.
• Ensures timely payment applications and follow-up on payments.
• Reviews and distributes project documents ensuring timely updates to contractors.
• Monitors safety practices to comply with OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Oversees quality assurance throughout the project.
