Job summary

GSM Industrial is a Fabrication job shop and Industrial Mechanical Contractor seeking a results-driven estimator/manager responsible for estimating and acquiring orders, overseeing mechanical contracting, industrial steel fabrication and installation for a base of accounts.

You will lead kickoff meetings, coordinate field/shop activities, manage procurement, billing, and safety compliance while delivering on-time, on-budget projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in this or a related field or equivalent training/experience.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance, rigging, piping, safe access, structural steel, machine install and ducting.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and material specifications.
• Project management, and computer skills.
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate mathematical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops long lasting relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Calculates estimated costs of material, labor, equipment and services for customer needs.
• Leads kickoff meetings to define project scope, schedule and materials.
• Owns scope of work and communicates updates to project team.
• Procures field materials and non-fabricated parts.
• Coordinates field, shop, and shipping activities with office duties.
• Leads and collaborates with the project superintendent to align construction with design, budget and schedule.
• Plans and supervises onsite functions including scheduling, engineering, and material control.
• Ensures timely payment applications and follow-up with clients.
• Reviews and distributes project documents including drawings, addendums and RFIs.
• Monitors OSHA/MSHA safety practices and enforces safety standards.
• Oversees quality assurance throughout projects.
