Job summary

Modern Disposal Services, Inc. seeks an Equipment Maintenance technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain production and physical plant equipment in our industrial recycling setting.

You will work on electrical and mechanical systems, read schematics, and ensure safe, reliable operation throughout the facility. Role involves installing control panels, motors, conveyors, air compressors, gear boxes and programing or supporting PLC/VFD systems, with emphasis on preventative maintenance and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Prior experience working with conveyors preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written form.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs control panels and associated components, motor control circuits, building and lighting circuits.
• Diagnoses electrical systems, circuit breakers and low voltage power distribution systems, AC/DC motors, PLC and VFD drive systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems of the production and physical plant equipment.
• Reads electrical/mechanical and schematic drawings to maintain equipment in a safe working manner in accordance with appropriate codes and ordinances.
• Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment, air compressors, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, gear boxes, and air handler units.
• Operate shop machinery, drill press, laths, milling machine and hand tools.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
