Job summary

Bridgestone Americas in Nashville is seeking an Industrial Engineering Co-Op to join our manufacturing optimization efforts. You will work on projects that involve personnel workflow, materials logistics, production sequencing and equipment layouts, gaining hands-on experience in a global tire and rubber company.

The Industrial Engineering position focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., personnel workflow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.).

An Industrial Engineering Co‑Op position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies and practices related to the job area.

Responsibilities

• Work on problems of limited scope and contributes on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher level professionals
• Establish methods of maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
• Conduct cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
• Assist manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design

You will also get to:

Minimum Qualifications

• To be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited university
• To be sophomore‑senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
• Completed course work in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCAD
• To be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6‑month minimum co‑op assignment
• No other work experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know!
