Job summary

Corning Incorporated in New York State is seeking a Summer internship to apply Industrial Engineering and Lean concepts to improve product and information flow. You will engage with manufacturing or innovation teams to identify improvements, observe production workflows, and support capacity and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

Enrolled in an Industrial Engineering degree program.
Interest in applying industrial engineering skills like capacity analysis, cost modeling, and facility layout.
Interest in Lean manufacturing principles and Value Stream Mapping.

Responsibilities

Engage with manufacturing or innovation teams to understand workflow and identify improvement opportunities.
Apply industrial engineering analysis to deliver results, observing production flow, capacity, material and space utilization, Lean manufacturing, and DMAIC.
Complete observations and data analysis, write summaries and conclusions, and make recommendations.
