Job summary

Adient US LLC is seeking a university intern for a Lean Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering focused role at Bridgewater Interiors II in Michigan. You will evaluate workstation layouts, design material flow from dock to use, and develop process tools for the Lean ME team while documenting current processes and line balancing.

The position requires enrollment in a 4-year engineering program (preferably Industrial Engineering), a minimum 3.0 GPA, and availability to work up to 40 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Solid analytical skills and ability to work with plant and corporate teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience developing macros is an added plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement workstation layouts compliant with strike zone methodology.
  • Material flow design from dock door to point of use.
  • Development of process tools for the Lean ME team.
  • Documenting current processes and line balancing activities.
  • Participation in CI workshops as a contributing team member.
  • Support of key business initiatives and core projects.
  • Travel within and outside Michigan to visit manufacturing plants.
  • Direct labor CI activities and line rebalances.
  • New material flow equipment testing and implementation.
