Job summary

ABB is offering an internship focused on continuous improvement in our Selmer, TN facility. You will work on projects to analyze manufacturing processes, collect data for time studies, and support kaizen initiatives alongside engineers and production teams.

The role includes CAD design support using SolidWorks or AutoCAD, contributing to SOP development, and presenting findings to the engineering group. You must be enrolled in an engineering degree and able to commute to the site.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Support data collection and analysis for time studies, workflow optimization, and root cause investigations.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process changes.
  • Assist in designing tools, fixtures, or layouts using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Document findings and present recommendations to the engineering team.
