Job summary

Toshiba International Corporation seeks an Industrial Engineering Intern to support manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives at our Houston facility. The role offers hands-on experience applying IE principles to real production challenges alongside cross-functional teams.

You will conduct time studies, analyze data, and help develop standard work, 5S, and Lean initiatives while gaining exposure to digital tools, safety, quality, and efficiency improvements in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze and interpret data.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support IE and manufacturing improvement projects within TIC production operations.
• Conduct time studies and observe processes to evaluate cycle times and efficiency.
• Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in developing and improving standard work and work instructions.
• Evaluate workflows, layouts, material movement and processes.
• Support Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist engineers with implementing process improvements on the production floor.
• Collect and analyze data to measure performance and validate improvements.
• Support manufacturing tech and digitalization for reporting and visibility.
• Collaborate with production staff and cross-functional teams; present progress.
• Prepare project documentation, analysis, recommendations, and presentations.
• Participate in meetings and communicate project progress.
• Perform other IE and manufacturing-support activities.
