Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) invites an Industrial Engineering Intern to support manufacturing and continuous improvement at our Houston facility. You will apply IE principles to real-world production challenges while collaborating with IE, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality teams.

This hands-on, project-based internship emphasizes practical experience on the production floor, with opportunities to work on time studies, standard work, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support IE and manufacturing improvement projects within TIC production operations.
• Conduct time studies and observe processes to evaluate cycle times, labor utilization, and efficiency.
• Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and improve standard work and work instructions.
• Evaluate workflows, layouts, material movement, and processes.
• Support Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist engineers with implementing process improvements on the floor.
• Collect and analyze data to measure manufacturing performance and validate improvements.
• Support digital tools and reporting to improve visibility and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams and cross-functional groups to develop practical solutions.
• Prepare documentation, analyses, and presentations for stakeholders.
