RTX invites students to explore aerospace and defense through an internship/co-op in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will gain hands-on industrial engineering exposure, supporting manufacturing processes, learning to use SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools.

You will work on cost control, productivity studies, and process improvements while collaborating with design teams to mitigate risks. This onsite role offers real project responsibility and growth opportunities.

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Background in Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

What You Will Do

• Learn to use engineering tools like SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, engineering drawings, and change control boards.


• Apply standard work tools and processes, including CORE certification.


• Develop key communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major through the completion of the internship/co-op session.


• Background in Root Cause Analysis.


• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer

• Prior experience in manufacturing environments


• Experience with CAD software.


• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.


• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
