Job summary

Excelitas IMS division invites a Fall 2026 Industrial Engineering Co-Op to collaborate with Engineering and Production teams in evaluating assembly-line operations in our Hiram, OH facility.

The role focuses on time studies, labor capacity analysis, and cost calculations, with additional duties including standard work instruction development and advancing process improvements and reporting. On-site work is required for the duration of the co-op.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical/Chemical with two years completed.
• Two years of completed coursework.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• U.S. work authorization without time restriction required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct operational reviews of product assembly lines with time studies and labor capacity analysis.
• Perform cost calculations for manufacturing processes.
• Assist in updating/developing standard work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and generate technical reports/presentations.

Job description

At Excelitas IMS division, we engineer diverse, high-quality materials to meet the customers' unique challenges.

• High-quality Scintillation materials with superior resolution and advanced photo-sensor integration for ionizing radiation detection: Alpha, Beta, Neutrons, Gamma Rays, X-rays.
• High-strength Industrial Sapphire, one of the hardest materials in existence, has properties to withstand extreme conditions such as high-temperature, high-pressure or harsh chemicals.
• High-quality X-ray Analyzers for Synchrotrons and Garnets used to grow semiconductor crystal layers.

The Industrial Engineering Co-Op will work with the Excelitas Engineering and Production teams to conduct operational reviews of product assembly lines which include time studies, labor capacity analysis and cost calculations. Additional duties may include updating and/or developing standard work instructions, assisting with process improvements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and creation of technical reports and presentations.

This position is for Fall of 2026 and located in our Hiram, OH facility. The ability to work 100% on-site is required.

Requirements

• Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred), Mechanical or Chemical with two years completed
