Job summary

Mars in Chicago, IL seeks an Industrial Engineer - Seasonal & Salty to support manufacturing supply strategy and drive cost agendas across plants and segment lines. The hybrid role includes roughly 50% in-office work.

You will analyze CapEx opportunities, develop business cases, and collaborate with R&D, Finance, Brand Marketing, and Plant Leadership to optimize capacity and ensure successful product launches and market activities. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical discipline or related field.
• 5+ years in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Strategy, Operations, or Network/Capacity Planning in a fast-paced CPG/FMCG environment.
• Experience developing business cases and financial justifications for CapEx projects including feasibility studies and scope definition.
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholders (R&D, Finance, Brand Marketing, Plant Leadership).
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Supply Lead for initiatives, designing network solutions from design to manufacturing execution.
• Champion Supply representation in the Quest stage-gate process to align cross-functional teams for launches and market activities.
• Author and gain approval for capital investment projects (MPARs) through CPP feasibility and scoping phases with Project Managers.
• Collaborate on long-term site Master Planning to align capabilities with future brand strategies.
• Lead 5-year capacity modeling and network utilization to ensure product supply and growth.
• Develop sourcing and risk-mitigation frameworks including make-vs-buy analyses and contingency planning.
• Model financial impacts with Finance/Commercial to optimize COGS and inventory.
• Analyze bottlenecks and drive capacity debottlenecking initiatives across the network.
• Maintain a centralized manufacturing capability registry to accelerate scale-up.
• Establish feedback loops with sites and End-to-End Planning to sustain high service levels.
