Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer to identify facility design and staffing needs, improve productivity, and develop SOPs for standardized operations across the network.

The role supports ongoing daily business solutions for global customers and requires strong analytical and communication skills. Remote role open to candidates anywhere in the US, with a preference for candidates in the Atlanta Metro Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1 year of engineering experience.
• Experience with analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, run charts, etc.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product dimensional profiles, product flow and transportation methods.
• Develop production time studies, head count analyses, downtime analyses and efficiency improvement plans.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve flow; analyze inbound, outbound and inventory operations to optimize warehouse operations.
• Perform value stream mapping, process improvements and standardization across sites.
• Assist pricing and solutions teams with operational cost and data for RFPs.
• Track KPIs and develop basic analytics for operational metrics.
• Collaborate with vendors to identify equipment and automation solutions.
• Develop and manage project plans for major operational improvements.
• Support maintenance by listing critical spare parts and min/max tracking.
• Daily P&L tracking for Finance.
• Convert contracts into work instructions and SOPs for QMS.
