Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Akron, OH facility, driving operational excellence across manufacturing through continuous improvement, process optimization, and cross-functional leadership.

You will lead projects to improve safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency, applying Lean methods and value-stream mapping while collaborating with Planning, Logistics, and production teams to optimize material flow and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, engineering, continuous improvement, or production activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute facility engineering projects that enhance safety, reliability, quality, and operational performance.
• Champion manufacturing transformation through continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to identify waste, improve efficiency, map value streams, and drive root-cause problem resolution.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Planning & Logistics and cross-functional teams to optimize material flow, warehousing, and processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain plant layouts and engineering drawings using CAD to support production efficiency and growth.
