Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services seeks an Industrial Engineer to join a client in Milpitas, CA. This full-time, direct-hire role is 100% onsite and supports electronic manufacturing operations, including SMT, THT, and PCB assembly.

You will work cross-functionally to scale operations, introduce new products, and enhance overall manufacturing performance. Responsibilities include optimizing processes, leading Lean initiatives, and improving quality metrics while collaborating with engineering,

Qualifications

5+ years in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
5+ years in electronic manufacturing (SMT/PCB).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (DMAIC).
Experience with time studies and work measurement techniques.
Strong knowledge of SMT/THT and PCB assembly.
Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (Power BI).
Experience with SQL, MES/ERP systems, and factory layout tools.
Strong data analysis and KPI tracking abilities.

Responsibilities

Optimize production processes, including line balancing, cycle time reduction, and labor efficiency.
Design and improve workstations, tooling, and fixtures to enhance productivity.
Support process setup, SMT/THT assembly, and resolve day-to-day production issues.
Monitor and improve manufacturing performance using KPIs (OEE, UPH, FPY, scrap rate).
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma DMAIC).
Drive waste reduction and operational excellence projects.
Perform time studies and workflow analysis to identify improvements.
Improve soldering, PCB assembly, and testing processes; use SPC and root-cause analysis.
Support CAPA processes and ensure IPC standards adherence.
Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) and ramp-up support.
Coordinate with supply chain on material flow, inventory, and scheduling.
