Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks an Industrial Engineer Intern to support process improvement on the plant floor in Killeen, TX. You will analyze production data, perform time studies, and collaborate with operations, quality and finance to drive waste reduction and efficiency.

You will report to the Plant Manager and gain hands-on experience with industrial engineering tools, KPIs, and real-world manufacturing challenges in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science or Systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with analytical abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze prime net yield data to identify trends and maximize production profitability.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and finance teams to investigate root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage Excel documents to support data tracking and reporting.
• Propose and develop process improvement techniques to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Conduct time studies across production stages to support KPI development.
• Measure process outputs to identify bottlenecks and equipment capacity.
• Maintain daily records of observations, data, and findings.
• Summarize findings and present actionable recommendations to site leadership.
