Broan-NuTone in Hartford is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to support day-to-day department activities, project work, and process improvement initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a professional business setting. This role targets students or early-career professionals eager to learn and grow.

The internship runs June 1, 2027, to August 20, 2027, full-time onsite, offering mentorship, exposure to professional tools, and opportunities to develop skills in productivity

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing or Mechanical, and junior or senior status.

• Proficiency in CREO Software.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate manufacturability/equipment issues caused by design and manufacturing variation; propose and validate solutions.
• Develop and implement Autonomous Maintenance documentation for critical automated equipment.
• Support in review, development, and implementation of Standard Work (WI, Process Sheets, Checklists, etc.).
• Utilize methodologies of time studies (MOST, MTM).
• Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and productivity improvements on the factory and warehouse floor.
• Collaborate with engineering to complete projects improving productivity and cost savings.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, communication, or team effectiveness.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Position Summary

The Intern will support day-to-day department activities, project work, and process improvement initiatives while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional business environment. This role is designed for a student or early‑career professional who is eager to learn, contribute to meaningful work, and develop practical skills related to their field of study or career interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate manufacturability / equipment issues that are causes by design and current manufacturing variation, propose, and validate solutions to mitigate issue.
• Develop and implement Autonomous Maintenance documentation for critical automated equipment that included detailing tasks, tools, frequency, and safety requirements.
• Support in review, development, and implementation of Standard Work (WI, Process Sheets, Checklists, etc.).
• Utilize methodologies of time studies (MOST, MTM).
• Assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings and increase productivity/efficiency on the factory and warehouse floor.
• Collaborate with other engineering team members to complete projects related to improvement of productivity and cost savings.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve processes, communication, or team effectiveness.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all work.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing or Mechanical, and of current Junior or Senior status.
• Must possess effective analytical, numerical, problem solving, and reasoning abilities. Ability to interpret data and make recommendations for improvement.
• Proficiency in CREO Software.
• Speak and write English effectively to convey information.
• Collaborative approach to partner with teammates, suppliers, and customers (both internal and external) successfully, working closely with others in a team environment. Establish and leverage relationships to achieve common project objectives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
