Position Summary

The Electrical Engineering Intern will support day-to-day engineering activities, product development projects, testing initiatives, and process improvement efforts while gaining hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment. This role is designed for a student pursuing an engineering degree who is eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, contribute to innovative residential ventilation products, and develop practical technical skills.

The intern will work closely with engineering team members to support product design, prototyping, testing, competitive product evaluations, and project execution while gaining exposure to engineering processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with product development projects, technical research, testing, and engineering documentation.
• Support concept generation, design evaluations, and prototype development activities.
• Participate in product testing, validation, and performance assessments.
• Conduct competitive product reviews and technical analyses.
• Assist in planning and supporting product lifecycle and obsolescence initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, project updates, and documentation.
• Learn and utilize engineering tools, systems, and processes related to product development.
• Attend project meetings, document key takeaways, and follow up on assigned action items.
• Collaborate with engineering team members and cross-functional partners to support project goals and timelines.
• Assist with reviewing engineering drawings and implementing revisions as directed.
• Support Engineering Change Notification (ECN) processes and documentation workflows.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve product performance, engineering processes, and team effectiveness.
• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all work activities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Coursework in circuit theory, embedded systems, software design, or related technical subjects.
• Basic understanding of mechanical devices and electromechanical components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and apply them to engineering solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, co-op, project, laboratory, or relevant work experience.
• Experience with product testing, prototyping, or engineering design projects.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welded assemblies, or plastic injection molded components.
• Knowledge of air movement, ventilation systems, appliance design, or related technologies.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Interest in product development, innovation, and engineering design.

Schedule and Duration

This internship is expected to run from Tuesday June 1, 2027 through Friday August 20, 2027 The anticipated schedule is full-time 40 hour work week, with work performed hybrid (Monday - Thursday in person, Friday remote).
