Job summary

Talascend is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a contract opportunity in Marion, Ohio. You will lead initiatives to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and ensure accurate costing and routing across the plant.

The role requires hands-on experience in production costing, line balancing, and time studies, with a focus on driving cost out and increasing throughput. This position is onsite at the Marion facility and offers opportunities to influence multiple production lines.

Responsibilities

• Provide ways and methods to eliminate all types of waste in the production process
• Drive continuous improvement through detailed analytics
• Develop a project pipeline for cost takeout
• Lead time studies utilizing Modapts, a predetermined time analysis
• Use line balancing with the Yamazumi chart for line rate changes
• Identify non-value add, unbalanced, value add, and semi-value add activities
• Lead cost studies to determine the best product flow in the plant
• Support WPS implementation by providing leadership to continuous improvement teams
• Drive the plant to achieve short and long-term labor productivity targets
• Support scoping of cost projects within the facility
• Ensure all new models and parts are efficiently integrated into operations
• Develop and maintain equipment capacity information and planning
• Own all costing, routers, line balances, and labor utilization for the plant
• Support level loading across workstations and departments to balance production flow and capacity

Overview

The Industrial Engineer will play a key leadership role in driving productivity, optimizing manufacturing processes, and supporting cost accuracy across the organization. This position involves developing and maintaining production standards, supporting level planning, and ensuring that costing routers accurately reflect true labor and process requirements.
