Job summary

RTX in Decorah, IA is seeking a manufacturing-focused engineer to contribute to process improvements on onsite operations. You will define solutions, collaborate with design engineering, and lead Lean initiatives to drive efficiency and cost control.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, cross-functional teamwork, and development of CAD tooling and assembly processes in a manufacturing environment. This is a fulltime onsite position in the United States.

Qualifications

What You Will Do
  • Define and implement technical solutions, tools, and manufacturing layouts to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability and refine product designs through technical insights.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives focused on cost control, inventory management, and Lean principles to drive process improvement.
  • Solve complex problems and innovate new assembly processes through data analysis, research, and emerging methodologies.
  • Manage medium‑complexity projects, estimate timelines and costs, and validate cost requirements to support decision‑making.

  • Creating documentation around testing software and documenting the software requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency in driving process enhancements and operational efficiency through continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
