Job summary

NORDAM is seeking a Production Planning/Time Standards Analyst to support the planning and efficiency improvements for the production of aircraft components. You will assist in developing and maintaining time standards, space planning, and data-driven cost analyses.

Responsibilities include auditing time standards, studying functional statements and project information to define worker functions, and contributing to methods that increase efficiency and reduce waste across production lines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–3 years related experience or training.
  • Effective communication in written and verbal form; capable of presenting to groups.

  • Support development and maintenance of production time standards for manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in designing layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Help analyze space requirements, workflow and cost data for ROI calculations.
  • Assist in establishing work measurement programs and standards for labor utilization.
  • Contribute to methods that improve worker efficiency and reduce material waste.

Job description

Job Summary

Applies fundamental knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards in the area of planning for the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations relative to the production of components, parts, systems and subsystems of operational aircraft.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
  • Solves problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures relative to auditing, development, application and maintenance of production time standards for manufacturing operations. Management applies close to moderately close supervision and review of work performed.
  • Assists in the development of systems specifications, programming and installation of databases of pertinent information for use in developing and maintaining time standards.
  • Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication as directed.
  • Assists in the analysis of space requirements, and workflow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Assists in providing cost and cost saving data required to calculate return on investment for cost justification analysis.
  • Assists in the analysis of work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Assists in establishing work measurement programs and analyzing work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Contributes to the development of methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

0-3 year(s) Related experience and/or training.

Skills and Competencies
  • Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
