Job summary

Job Summary

Applies fundamental knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards in the area of planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
  • Solves problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures relative to planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. Management applies close to moderately close supervision and review of work performed.
  • Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals of limited to moderate scope and complexity to develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Assists in devising sampling procedures, designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Assists in establishing programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Assists in developing and implementing methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Monitors workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Assists in compiling and writing training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

0-3 year(s) Related experience and/or training.

Skills and Competencies
  • Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment
