Job summary

NORDAM is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to manage the administration of contracts for aircraft systems, components, and parts for commercial or government uses. You will liaise with customers, interpret complex contracts, and guide cross-functional teams in contract execution.

The role requires extensive knowledge of contract principles, strong communication, and ability to manage schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business or a technical discipline.
  • 7 year(s) related experience and/or training.
  • Combination of experience and training may substitute education requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Develops solutions to complex problems adjusting standards for contract administration of production aircraft systems.
  • Manages customer interface communications and liaises between company and customer on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Chairs or attends contract status meetings and informs on schedule, cost and technical impact of non-performance.
  • Monitors project progress to ensure schedule and budget compliance; prepares contract status reports for management.
  • Receives, coordinates and interprets contract changes; negotiates amendments with customer.
  • Reviews and coordinates responses to RFPs and administers contracts, including payment.

Job Summary

Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards in the area administration of contracts relative to manufacturing of aircraft systems, components and parts for commercial or government applications.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to modify standards and procedures relative to administering contracts for production of aircraft systems, components and parts for commercial or government applications. Management applies general guidance related to resolution of complex problems and outcome.
  • Manages customer interface communications and provides essential liaison between company and the customer to resolve problems. Interprets contractual documents that are of complex to very complex scope and advises all concerned departments of contractual rights and obligations. Maintains contract status and identifies problems and resolutions thereto to management. Reviews all correspondence concerning the customer and vendors and responds as necessary.
  • Chairs or attends contract status meetings on a regular basis. Advises participants of schedule, cost and technical problems and the impact of non-performance on the contract.
  • Monitors the activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares routine and special contract status reports and project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Receives, coordinates and interprets changes to current contracts requested by customer. Represents the Company and negotiates contract changes and amendments with the customer.
  • Reviews and coordinates responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) relating to production of systems, components and parts for aircraft applications. Reviews responses from the various departments to ensure compliance with RFP requirements. May assist in negotiating the final contract including the award, and administer contracts, including final approval of payment.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Business or a technical discipline.

Preferred Graduate Degree. Additional postgraduate legal training or a Jurist Doctor level degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Experience Requirements

7 year(s) Related experience and/or training.

Skills and Competencies

  • Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment
