Job summary

Fenner Precision Polymer, a Michelin Group company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer with 0-3 years of experience to join our Kentucky site. You will lead improvement projects, apply Lean methods, and support production targets while developing data collection processes and standard work instructions.

Collaborating with Production/Operations managers, you will analyze monthly financials, identify opportunities, and help drive progress plans to hit KPIs.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a positive, solutions-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site-level improvement projects for cost reduction, revenue growth and efficiency.
  • Perform Time Studies and Critical Observations to identify opportunities.
  • Use statistical analysis tools to test and validate project solutions.
  • Develop Cost-Benefit Analyses for project ideas and present to Upper Management.
  • Support Lean processes and 6S across the site.
  • Assist in setting and tracking production targets and goals.
  • Develop data collection processes and create standard work instructions.
  • Collaborate with Production/Operations managers to identify improvement opportunities and track monthly financials.

What You’ll Be Doing…
  • Project Management
    • Lead site-level improvement projects for cost reduction, increased revenue and profit growth within assigned area
    • Complete Time Studies and Critical Observations to Identify Opportunities
    • Use statistical analysis tools to test and validate project solutions
    • Develop Cost-Benefit Analyses for Project ideas and present to Upper Management
  • Lean Process Implementation
    • Work to develop optimized flow and facility efficiency using Lean principles
    • Implement and Maintain 6S Processes and Controls within assigned area
    • Use Process & Value Stream mapping tools to highlight waste
    • Support Kaizen, SMED, and Bib Tool Events across Fenner
  • Support and Maintain the development of Production targets and goals
  • Develop and drive data collection processes to prioritize improvements
  • Create Standard Work Instructions
  • Business/Operations Analysis & Progress Plan
    • Work closely with Production/Operations Managers to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Complete analysis on monthly financials to track and control improvements
    • Support development and execution of progress plan for assigned sites
    • Support Operations in achieving critical business objectives and monthly KPI’s
  • Training/Skills
    • Pursue Study of Six Sigma Green Belt
    • Complete Michelin Industrial Progress Basics Training
    • Build connections and relationships with Michelin Groupe Industrial Progress network
  • Daily Progress Initiatives
    • Support and monitor site-level production reporting
    • Complete Root Cause Analysis for out-of-control processes
  • Other duties as assigned
