Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Industrial Engineer 1 to support manufacturing and service operations in Orangeburg, SC. The role focuses on documenting time standards, observing build processes, and applying lean methods to drive improvements across value streams.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, and support teams to promote production stability, analyze processes, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives. This onsite role typically operates on 1st shift.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering; ABET preferred.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or production environments.
  • Experience performing work observations and time studies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze value stream design including capability, capacity, throughput, workflow, and logistics.
  • Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets for data analysis and metrics.
  • Apply industrial engineering techniques to product and process design teams.
  • Improve schedules by developing processes to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Use engineering methods to optimize design and resource utilization.
  • Validate hours per order and create new time standards for scheduling software.
  • Analyze value-added vs non-value-added processes to drive improvements.
  • Identify safety and quality hazards for root-cause investigations.

Industrial Engineer 1

Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position involves the application of industrial engineering concepts, techniques, and analysis to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering, and service operations. The role focuses on documenting time standards and processes to enhance production stability. This includes observing build processes and recommending improvements through lean methodologies. Candidates will engage with manufacturing, engineering, and production-support organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and support the design of the value stream, including capability, capacity, throughput, workflow, and logistics.
  • Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics.
  • Apply industrial engineering techniques to product and process design teams throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality.
  • Utilize engineering methods to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient resource utilization.
  • Validate current hours per order/job performance and create new time standards for scheduling software implementation.
  • Analyze value-added versus non-value-added processes and recommend process improvements.
  • Identify and elevate safety and quality hazards and risks for root-cause investigation.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering is required. Education/experience is typically acquired through an advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g., Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experience: Candidates must have exposure or experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or production environment. Experience performing work observations and time studies is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • One or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing and knowledge of lean principles.
  • Experience developing and deploying standard processes.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to crouch down, be semi-mobile, walk, and climb stairs while performing duties throughout the day. Primarily 1st shift work is expected, with the business need to support observations on all three shifts.
