Job summary

Jobtailor in Sharonville, Ohio is looking for an Industrial Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to optimize labor targets, conduct time studies, and support line balancing across Powertrain plant programs in North America.

Responsibilities include cycle line layout planning, project support for build events, and collaboration with manufacturing teams to drive throughput improvements and process changes. Strong MS Office skills and MODAPTS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
  • 2–3 years of Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing operations experience.
  • Open to limited travel in Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
  • Knowledge of time studies, workstation setup, and line balancing.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Plant Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Process operations experience preferred.
  • Capacity and Operating Pattern knowledge, such as Capacity Strategy documents.
  • Knowledge of Machining META, Gear & PCA Dotmaps.
  • Experience with MODAPTS preferred.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Lead new model labor optimization efforts to achieve labor targets through benchmarking and target setting.
  • Support cycle line layout planning and virtual build events with future-model operator allocations and time studies.
  • Work with plants to support physical build events and program launches.
  • Minimize labor impacts through Kaizen, plant tasks, and design opportunities.
  • Assist with operator allocations, cycle line layouts, and line speed changes.
  • Maintain and deliver Machining META and Gear & PCA dotmaps.
  • Support IE documentation including Labor Glidepath, PHM, and APT assessments.
  • Complete and evaluate time studies using MODAPTS for work standards.
  • Collaborate with industrial, manufacturing, material handling, ergonomics, and plant personnel.
  • Align with plants on reported capacity and labor to support get-ready capacity statements.
  • Support Sharonville Transmission Plant programs and Powertrain facilities across North America.

Job description

  • Lead new model labor optimization efforts to achieve labor targets through benchmarking, target setting, process-change tracking, and replication across programs and plants
  • Support cycle line layout planning and virtual build events with future-model operator allocations and time studies
  • Work with plants to support physical build events and program launches
  • Minimize or offset labor impacts through Kaizen, plant tasks/projects, and design/process opportunities
  • Support STP labor SAR items
  • Assist with operator allocations, cycle line layouts, plant rebalances, line speed changes, time studies, throughput issues, and launch support
  • Maintain and deliver Machining META and Gear & PCA dotmaps
  • Support IE documentation including Labor Glidepath, PHM, Program 1-Pager, Plant Line Speed, and APT Assessment
  • Complete and evaluate time studies using MODAPTS for work standards
  • Collaborate with industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, material handling, ergonomics, and plant personnel
  • Align with plants on reported capacity, operating patterns, and labor to support the get-ready capacity statement
  • Support Sharonville Transmission Plant programs and Powertrain facilities across North America, potentially including Assembly, Machining, Gears, and other Powertrain plants
Requirements
