Job summary

TES Recruiting in Richmond, VA is seeking a manufacturing process engineer to measure labor content and develop standard staffing plans. You will install mixed-model line balances and collaborate with leadership to design efficient value stream layouts.

Responsibilities include leading 5S activities, developing training content with the training manager, and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality in the production environment.

• Collaborate with operators and leadership to design value stream layouts in production space.
• Lead 5S exercises to improve organization and reduce operator frustration.
• Work with training manager to develop content for continuity of knowledge and standard processes.
• Investigate and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or quality through fixturing and collaborate with manufacturing engineers to implement solutions.
• Create production metrics with operators to encourage ownership and engagement in success.

• Measure labor content of varying models in order to create standard staffing plans and production processes.
• Develop and install mixed model line balances to efficiently meet customer demand.
• Collaborate with operators and leadership to design and implement value stream layouts in the production workspace.
• Lead and participate in 5S exercises to remove operator’s frustrations and improve organization.
• Work together with the training manager to develop training content to ensure continuity of knowledge and maintain standard processes.
• Investigate and implement continuous improvement opportunities and ideas.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or quality through fixturing opportunities and work with manufacturing engineers to develop and implement solutions.
• Create, in coordination with operators, production metrics to encourage self-measurement and engagement in success.
