Job description

  • Real ownership over how the production floor runs
  • A team where continuous improvement is the job, not a buzzword
  • Hands-on across process design, automation, and UPS/MV manufacturing
Industrial Engineer – Power Electronics Manufacturing (Katy, TX)

If you've ever looked at a production line and immediately started spotting the bottlenecks, this role was built for you. You'll be optimizing the systems, workflows, and processes behind a manufacturing operation that produces uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and medium voltage (MV) equipment, work that sits at the heart of how power gets delivered reliably to the people who depend on it. This isn't a desk-only analyst role. You'll be on the floor, in the data, and in the room when decisions get made about how production runs.

There's real technical depth here, from statistical analysis and process simulation to capacity planning and automation enhancements, and real latitude to bring your own methodology to the table, whether that's Lean, Six Sigma, or something you've built through experience. The work touches nearly every part of the operation: people, materials, equipment, and information, which means your impact compounds fast.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

This is a role with genuine cross-functional reach. You won't be siloed in an engineering office; you'll be coordinating with production, quality, and leadership on projects that materially affect cost, output, and safety. Because the operation spans both UPS and medium voltage production, there's a breadth of technical exposure that's hard to find in a single-line manufacturing role. And because continuous improvement is built into the job, not bolted on, there's a clear runway to grow your scope as you prove out results.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Analyzing production workflows and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Using statistical analysis, simulation, and predictive modeling to improve system performance
  • Designing and implementing integrated systems across people, machines, materials, and information, including capacity planning
  • Building resource allocation strategies that maximize output while controlling cost
  • Leading quality control initiatives, including setting benchmarks and monitoring systems
  • Running cost-benefit analysis and budgeting to keep production systems cost-effective
  • Ensuring the production environment stays compliant with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Leading projects that introduce new systems, tools, automation, or processes
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to cut waste and boost performance
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience
  • 2+ years of related industrial engineering experience
  • Strong grounding in process design, optimization techniques, and statistical/mathematical modeling
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), plus simulation tools
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for cross-functional teams
  • A track record of building strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal partners
  • A demonstrated bias toward continuous improvement
