Essential Functions

• Responsible for in-house engineering feasibility studies, system trials, cost estimates, capital project planning, design, scheduling, and installations that optimize new and existing equipment.
• Manage all aspects of capital projects.
• Collaborate with plant management and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and enhance operating efficiencies.
• Show adaptability and openness to change; anticipate problems and provide innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Maintain and update knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and technological advances to maximize efficiency.
• Focus on evaluating and improving plant performance in safety, quality, production output, and operating costs.
• Potential responsibilities include environmental programs, permits, audits, and administration.
• Provide engineering oversight for software development and functionality.
• Communicate effectively in both individual and group settings, adjusting language to audience needs.
• Read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints.
• Understand project management principles and techniques.
• Be a participative and influential team player to achieve production goals.
• Maintain sound judgment and performance under stress or opposition, such as time pressure or ambiguity.

Minimum Education/Experience/Physical Functions

Bachelor of Science degree required, preferably in engineering, wood products, or business. This developmental position aims to provide technical exposure and practical application of education and experience. Opportunities include understanding operations at the regional or plant level.

Preferred qualifications include a degree in Business, Engineering, or Wood Products (Natural Resources) with 0-4 years of related experience. Must understand and apply mathematical concepts, possess computer skills across various applications, and have excellent communication skills. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Experience in continuous manufacturing, wood products, and knowledge of process controls and improvement tools is advantageous.

Decision-Making/Supervisory

Decisions are limited to the immediate scope of work with supervisor guidance and routine review.
