Job summary

O-I in Auburn, NY is seeking an Electronic Technician to support glassware inspection systems and related manufacturing technology, including robotics, PLCs and vision systems. The technician will monitor inspection and electronics equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, read complex blueprints, and ensure optimal system performance in a fast-paced plant environment. Strong aptitude for mechanics and electronics is essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Electrical Technology or 3 years of Industrial Electrician experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience with PLCs, servo controls and vision systems preferred
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to read complex diagrams

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair complete systems including vision systems and machine controls
• Repair electrical or electronic equipment and components
• Monitor inspection machine performance and adjust as necessary
