Job summary

OnCare Digital Assets in North Carolina seeks an experienced Industrial Electronics Technician to support automation across North American pulp and paper mills. It is a day-travel role with occasional overnight travel and full employee benefits.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot controls, install equipment, and support instrumentation and electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical Systems, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field.
• 2+ years of electrical/electronic troubleshooting in an industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty, hot, or cold environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across sensors, switches, controllers, instrumentation and control power.
• QCS equipment experience with Honeywell, ABB, Mahlo, Valmet, ThermoFisher or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components per codes, manuals, and schematics.
• Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing operations for instrumentation and electrical control applications.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment.
• Install new electrical equipment and manage inventory of parts.

Quick Facts

• Monday-Friday schedule
• Full-time, direct-hire position (not a temp job or staffing company)
• Traveling Industrial Electronics Technician role supporting customers throughout North Carolina and South Carolina
• Primarily a day-travel position with the expectation that you will typically be home each night; however, occasional overnight travel may be required. There may be times where travel assignments require 2-3 nights away at a time, but extended travel is not a constant expectation of this role.

A day in the life as an Industrial Electronics Technician - Paper Mill can look like...

• Performing preventative maintenance on electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial equipment following electrical code, manuals, and schematics.
• Provide hands-on extensive technical support to manufacturing operations for instrumentation and electrical control applications.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic equipment.
• Installing new electrical equipment, inventory, and parts management.

Supporting Other Maintenance Activities Including Mechanical Tasks As Required.

• Performing tasks to include, but not limited to, testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments/equipment.

We know you can handle these things because you have experience like:

• Associates degree or higher education in Electrical Systems, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electro-mechanical, Electrical System Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Automation, or related degree or related military experience.
• It is also beneficial to have at least two (2) years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including periods of time in noisy, dusty, hot, or cold environments.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various electrical sensors, switches, controllers, instrumentation, transmitters, automated valves, calibrations, industrial communications, robotics, motion control, and AC/DC control power.
• QCS experience with equipment (Honeywell, ABB, Mahlo, Valmet, Thermofisher, etc.) OR equivalent military work experience (fire control, nuclear, weapons control, avionics, electronics, etc.) preferred but not required.
