Hermes Abrasives, Ltd. in the United States is seeking an experienced Industrial Electronics Technician to support daily maintenance activities related to equipment, machinery, production lines, and facility systems.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems, installation of servo drives and PLCs, and preventive maintenance to ensure ISO 9001 compliance. Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred in Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Manufacturing/industrial experience required.
  • Limited travel anticipated.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronically and mechanically controlled machinery, industrial equipment, and general plant/building systems.
  • Install, repair, and upgrade AC/DC servo drives, frequency drives, microprocessors, and related peripherals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/electrically controlled equipment including coating machines, ovens, presses, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot analog and digital temperature, pressure, and flow controllers per ISO 9001.
  • Research, design, implement upgrades, and retrofit machinery to support production needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment ranging from small machinery to building electrical switchgear.
  • Support general facility, building, and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Read machine drawings and electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment.

Position Summary

Hermes Abrasives is looking for an experienced Industrial Electronics Technician to support daily maintenance activities related to equipment, machinery, production lines, building and facility systems, groundskeeping, security, and overall facility appearance.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronically and mechanically controlled machinery, industrial equipment, and general plant/building systems.
  • Install, repair, and upgrade AC/DC servo drives, frequency drives, microprocessors, and related peripherals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/electrically controlled equipment, including coating machines, ovens, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, cutters, conveyors, packaging equipment, printing machines, and other industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analog and digital temperature, pressure, and flow controllers in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Research, design, manufacture, and install upgrades, new machinery, and retrofits to support production equipment needs.
  • Implement and perform preventive maintenance procedures on equipment ranging from small manufacturing machinery to building electrical supply switchgear.
  • Support general facility, building, and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand machine drawings, electrical schematics, and electrical symbols to troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to repair or replace machine components as needed.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Strong communication skills within the maintenance department and across other departments.
  • Motivated team player who takes direction well.
  • Responsible and safe use of personal tools and shop equipment.
  • Ability to train others on equipment usage.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting required.
  • Limited to no travel required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp, and perform hands‑on maintenance work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
