Job summary

Industrial Electronic Electrician – Facilities at Caterpillar Inc. in San Diego is seeking an experienced technician to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing equipment.

You will read schematics and NEC/California Electric Code, work with PLCs and motor controls, and operate lifts while following safety procedures. A high school diploma and an apprenticeship are preferred; 3–5 years’ experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical and electronic trouble shooting, installation, and repair.
• Knowledge of motor controls, ladder logic, and PLCs.
• Ability to run conduit of all sizes and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing equipment.
• Read schematics, blueprints, and NEC/CEC codes to guide work.
• Repair or modify printed circuit cards and program controls for equipment.
• Operate hand/power tools and electrical test equipment safely.
• Work at heights and use lifts as required and directed.
