Job summary

Gerdau Monroe seeks an Electronic Technician to support steel production by analyzing requests, coordinating maintenance, and performing troubleshooting of automated control systems. The role requires knowledge of PLCs, electrical wiring, and instrumentation in an industrial setting.

The incumbent will work with diagnostic tools, update CMMS records, and collaborate with electricians and maintenance staff to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Must pass a written test.

Responsibilities

• Analyze job requests for priority, material requirements and scope of project.
• Install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair automated industrial control equipment.
• Work with diagnostic tools including voltmeters, oscilloscopes and megohmmeters.
• Understand PLCs and HMIs and make online/offline changes.
• Verify and adjust plant instrumentation and control systems.
• Collaborate with electricians to ensure proper installations and upgrades.
• Maintain and service controls and instrumentation with maintenance teams.
• Understand mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical systems.
