Job summary

AM General in Mishawaka, Indiana is seeking a skilled electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical components for industrial equipment across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have a journeyman card or equivalent experience (8+ years), can lift 50 lbs, and demonstrate strong communication and attendance. Medical and retirement benefits, plus performance bonuses, are included.

Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician card or completion of electrical apprenticeship, or 8+ years in electrical trade validated by prior employers.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Strong and accurate written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical components for industrial equipment, including conduit, wiring, lighting, and heavy‑duty components.
• Perform preventative maintenance: inspections, cleaning, testing, updating components to prevent failures.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose system problems, and repair faulty components, circuits, and MCCs.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC and safety standards.
• Keep accurate records of electrical work and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, technicians, and other trades to complete projects.
