Job summary

Interfor in Eatonton, Georgia is seeking an Industrial Electrician Trainee to learn hands-on electrical maintenance at our sawmill. You’ll work with experienced electricians to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems while gaining valuable on-the-job skills and safety training.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, learning to read schematics and PLC controls, and performing routine preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill site.
• Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC controls, AC inverters, and other mill control systems.
• Adhere to lock-out/tag-out safety procedures and isolate power sources.
• Plan and manage tasks with minimal supervision and submit work orders.

Industrial Electrician Trainee, Eatonton, Georgia

As an Industrial Electrician Trainee in Eatonton, Georgia, you'll work alongside experienced electricians to learn how to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the electrical systems and equipment that keep our sawmill operating efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals entering the electrical trade who are eager to learn, grow, and advance into a skilled industrial electrician role. The pay rate for this position is $23.07 per hour, with the opportunity for increased earnings as skills, experience, and qualifications grow.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the entire mill site.


• Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.


• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.


• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all Programmable Logic Controller (P.L.C.) controls, A.C inverters, or any other control systems throughout the mill site.


• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring that the power source is turned off, machine locked out, and tested to ensure isolation.


• Effectively manage and plan work to accomplish job tasks with minimal direct supervision.


• Submit work requests.


• Fill out completed work orders listing work done, parts used, and time taken to complete the job.


• Perform any other duties in any area requested by Supervisor.


• Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
