Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our sawmill team in Anderson, California. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across a large manufacturing facility and collaborate with skilled teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable sawmill/industrial and motor controls experience.
• Demonstrated ability to arc weld / stick weld.
• Understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of photocells, limit switches, encoders, proximity sensors, analog and digital devices, frequency drives and three-phase motors desired.
• Basic ladder logic and PLC reading/writing preferred.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and their programming, preferable.
• Read and understand blueprints and circuit diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing facility.
• Maintain all components required to control machinery, including switches, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, and interface units.
• Identify hazards and correct electrical defects.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Inspect and maintain motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, and lighting.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine layout of industrial electrical installations.
• Install electrical conduit and pull wire.
• Lay conduit, pull wire, and work off ladders.
• Change electric motors and understand NEMA frame sizing.
• Maintain efficiency and safety of plant electrical circuits and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and install encoders, linear transducers, vision systems, and other sensors.
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize performance and production.
• Troubleshoot issues calmly and resolve effectively.
• Communicate clearly and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
• Perform general maintenance safely and keep work area clean.
• Overtime may be required during busy production times.
