USG Corporation is seeking an industrial electrical technician to operate test equipment, install and troubleshoot motor controls, PLCs, and process instrumentation at our Chicago-area facility. The role requires reading electrical schematics, working with HMI systems, and performing preventive maintenance on complex electrical systems.

Candidates should be able to work multiple shifts, be comfortable with on-call duties, and pass a basic electrical skills test.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work safely with limited supervision.
• Must pass a basic electrical skills test.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and cable drawings.

Responsabilités

• Operate electrical test equipment (voltmeter, megger, amprobe) and troubleshoot motor control, lighting, and related systems.
• Read and interpret schematics and symbols; use HMI screens for process control troubleshooting.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot VFD wiring and programming; repair and replace motors, sensors, and pumps.
• Design conduit layouts and wire sizing; ensure NEC code compliance.
• Assist with field termination of motors, transformers, and process equipment.
