Job summary

Interfor is hiring an Industrial Electrician for our Monticello, Arkansas operations. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical and control systems across the sawmill to power production safely and efficiently.

You will repair and improve electrical systems, read schematics, and manage PLCs and drives while following strict lock-out safety practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Interfor offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a technical degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electrical distribution systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill.
• Read and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, AC drives, motors, and other control systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
• Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring equipment is properly isolated before work begins.
• Effectively manage and plan work assignments with minimal direct supervision.
• Submit work requests and complete work orders detailing work performed, parts used, and time required.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
