Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electrician for the Large Power Systems Division to build, install, and repair electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment.

You will diagnose malfunctions, calibrate testing instruments, and work with oscilloscopes and signal generators to ensure optimal performance. Strong knowledge of electronics, PLCs, and blueprints is essential.

Qualifications

• Field related degree, electrical apprenticeships, technical school, or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of electronics, electronic controls, and PLC logic.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities on complex electrical/electronic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot motors and controllers.
• Preventive maintenance and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, install, and repair electrical/electronic circuits on machine tools and plant equipment.
• Use instruments to locate defects in electronic circuits.
• Test faulty equipment and diagnose malfunctions.
• Calibrate and service electronic testing instruments.
• Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, electronic counters, recorders.
