Caterpillar Inc. is hiring an Electrician in the Large Power Systems Division to build, install, and repair electrical circuits on machine tools and plant equipment. You will diagnose malfunctions and test equipment while applying knowledge of electronics and PLC logic.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Excellent communication skills are essential for success in this team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed field-related education or equivalent training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of electronics, electronic controls, and PLC logic is required.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities on complex electrical/electronic manufacturing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot motors, transformers, and controllers.
• Preventive maintenance experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Build, install, repair electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment.
• Applies knowledge of operation of electronic circuits to locate defects using instruments.
• Tests faulty equipment and diagnose malfunctions.
• Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, electronic counters, recorders, etc.
• Calibrate and service electronic testing instruments.
• Follow safety and quality procedures in all tasks.
