Job summary

Caterpillar’s Morton Distribution Center is hiring an Industrial Electrician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems, PLCs, and automation. You will troubleshoot complex equipment, read schematics, and support integration of new electrical gear while adhering to safety standards.

You’ll work 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, with competitive pay, retention bonuses, and day-one benefits. This role requires 3+ years in electrical/electronic fields and the ability to pass a Ramsay assessment,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of commercial, industrial, military, electrical, or electronic experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years of mechanical installation/repair experience or equivalent.
• Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to pass a Ramsay Electrical Maintenance assessment covering electrical theory, schematics, and safety.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, PLC, and relay logic equipment.
• Troubleshoot automated material-handling systems, conveyor networks, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial equipment.
• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Use electrical testing and digital diagnostic equipment to identify electrical and electromechanical faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility power distribution systems and plant equipment.
• Support the installation and startup of new electrical equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain testing instruments.
• Follow OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and NFPA 70E safety practices.
