Job summary

The City of Glendale's Water Services Department seeks an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to perform journey-level electrical work at treatment plants and remote sites. You will install, repair, and maintain medium and low voltage systems, and support 24-hour operations with control equipment and MCCs.

You must complete a four-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, plus two years of MV experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Two years of experience as a skilled electrician working on medium voltage equipment.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience qualifying.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems and equipment in industrial environments.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment, including medium voltage motors and transformers.
• Document preventive maintenance and monitor programs for electrical equipment.
• Read diagrams and blueprints to design circuits and control systems.
• Provide on-the-job training to junior crew members and standby for after-hours calls.
