Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a qualified maintenance technician to keep plant machinery, pumps, gearboxes, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems in optimal operating condition. You will diagnose, dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment, using drawings and manuals, and perform preventive maintenance in a fast-paced steel facility.

The role requires reading schematics/blueprints, welding, and adherence to NFPA 70E safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; AAS preferred.
• 3–5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors, gear boxes, lubrication, welding, NFPA 70E.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and reassembly of equipment.
• Maintain pumps, gearboxes, motors, cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Read schematics/blueprints and follow work orders.
