Qualifications

• 3–5 years of journeyman level experience.
• Ability to read sketches or blueprints and plan layouts.
• Maintain current electrician license or identification card to meet state regulations.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Inspect systems and components to identify hazards and ensure code compliance.
• Test electrical systems and continuity with testing devices to ensure safety.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring locations and conformance to codes.
• Repair or replace wiring and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to access wiring and fixtures.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Aid during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators.
