Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, M-F with OT). The role involves installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing environment, with a wage rate of $38.53 to $41.80 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate is a Journeyman Electrician with 3–5 years of industrial experience, strong AC/DC theory knowledge, and the ability to work independently or in a team while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Electrician with 3–5 years of industrial experience.
• Understand AC/DC electrical theory and electrical safety.
• Physically capable of handling materials from ladders or cramped positions.
• Must pass a basic color blindness test.
• Instrumentation and mechanical knowledge a plus.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical systems up to 480 V/3 phase.
• Perform PM and corrective maintenance as assigned.
• Plan and install/repair wiring, fixtures, and control equipment.
• Prepare sketches and schematics for wiring locations.
• Install transformers, switches, relays, and conduit.
• Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
• Test circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Assist HVAC personnel in troubleshooting building utility equipment.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed.
• Complete housekeeping and related duties as assigned.
