Job summary

West Fraser in Newberry, SC is seeking an Electrician to join our maintenance team. You will inspect, repair, install, and test electrical circuits and equipment, performing preventative maintenance on mill systems and supporting automation and control tasks.

Responsibilities include wiring, component replacement, and testing with instruments such as multimeters and Megger. This role requires rotating shifts, safety focus, and the ability to work with PLC-based controls and industrial power

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Background in Electrical fundamentals.
• Knowledge in 3 phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with 480-volt power and logic circuits.
• Strong computer, math, analytical and planning skills.
• Must be able to read electrical schematics proficiently without supervision.
• Familiar with machine control systems.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays; on-call emergencies.
• Eligible to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical/electronic preventative maintenance on mill equipment.
• Repair, modify, and maintain a variety of electrical and electronic equipment.
• Perform tasks like wiring circuits, replacing components, and repairing electronic devices.
• Perform tests reading using instruments such as multi-meter and Megger.
• Remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes as needed.
• Work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required.
• Adhere to safety rules and wear safety equipment; complete required training.
• Other duties as assigned.
