Job summary

The Broward County Public Works Department is seeking an Industrial Electrician - Water/Wastewater to perform advanced journey level electrical work on live circuits in county facilities and industrial equipment.

You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain high-voltage systems up to 4160 volts, interpret schematics, ensure PPE compliance, and coordinate with staff. Requires four years of industrial electrical experience, including 4160-volt work. A valid Florida driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires four (4) years' experience in industrial electrical installation and maintenance.
• Includes at least one (1) year working with 4160 volts in an industrial environment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License class E or higher.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical components of high voltage industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoots high voltage apparatus including motors, pumps, and control panels.
• Performs maintenance on live circuits (3-phase 480V; 4160V switchgear).
• Interprets drawings/schematics for electrical control circuits; ensures PPE compliance.
• Obtains materials and coordinates time, cost, and staffing for projects.
• Interacts with staff and the public to resolve service needs.
